I am loving Lisbon life… here are my favourite places for a weekend getaway….
Café Janis is a bright yellow sunshine building full of deliciousness – it’s my favourite for breakfast. Whether you like your coffees and pastries or juices and smoothie bowls – amazing. I love to sit outside but there are some cosy nooks inside too.
For us, lunch is usually a pastry break – we found this lovely retro bakery in the heart of downtown.
Lisbon Confeitaria Nacional has been creating amazing pastries since 1829!Sometimes you just have to indulge in pasties de nata – the traditional custard tarts
If you are a seafood lover like me – head to O Portuguese Chiado.
My favourite is their speciality – the traditional Polvo a Lagareiro (octopus) but they also do great fusion flavours and vegan treats. Some nights there is live music or a DJ.
And it’s close to the Museu do Chiado (National Museum of Contemporary Art) for your culture fix.
Boavista Social Club do dinners, they do jazz, they do pintxos nights… but we go for the cocktails and the music – it’s great for audiophiles!
If a city could be human – I’d be a Lisbon! I came for two weeks… and stayed two months!
