Our gorgeous muse and model Roshni Shaarma stole our hearts the moment we met her in Goa and we have loved working with her for our FARA shoots ever since. We feel incredibly proud to watch her stunning looks and enchanting energy capture the attention of many high end brands around the world, however we are always excited to welcome her back into our FARA family when she returns home to Goa!

Roshni, like us, you split your time between the city and the beach currently living between Bombay and Goa.
Tell us what keeps you part time in the city?
As a native Goan I was born and brought up, majorly in South Goa, where my grandparents liked to go on getaways. I always feel at home and grounded when I come back to Goa and because I live on a versatile work schedule and being a water baby I would never choose any other place than somewhere like your own home. I also enjoy working as a model now which gives me more time and money whilst I am living here .

And, what was the original attraction for you to live Goa?
The MAGICAL and healing experiences that I was drawn into after l left Mumbai for some ‘me time’. I had recently lost my father and decided that I wanted to have my own time to understand the best of what has happened.
But Goa is not just a place for me, it is truly my heaven on earth. There is love there …a kind of love that everyone who visits gets attracted to and touched by.

What do you love most about spending time in Goa?
I love to swim and ground myself along with spending time with various communities and travel buddies.

Can you share your favourite beach spot and a place you love to hang out and enjoy a balmy Goan evening?
I would never trade anything for the beautiful Ashwem beach and just the spot around elsewhere.
In contrast to the slow Goa lifestyle, your work as a model can take you to palces like Paris and mean you are often on the move and meeting lots of people. What has been your biggest challenge or lesson from the fashion world?
That it is a lot of chaos on the inside if one is not grounded well. The fashion world can be truly influential on someone coming from a small time, and it takes courage and committment to one’s values to survive it well. I have always been able to pull myself out of the stress but sometimes it does get to me, and like in any other life situation, I gather up the awareness to pull myself together. I usually keep my personal and professional life separate as that makes it easier to systemise things and have a flow.

Who or what inspires your values and direction?
To be honest I think my inspiration has always been people. Yes, of course I have my own role models like Beyonce and Frida Kahlo, for instance, and the women that they are in all profoundness.
But PEOPLE are what makes me feel excited…
Also Nature is my everything. I am truly grateful.
I am also truly inspired by journaling and reading back old texts from my younger self. It makes me feel like there is an absolute impermanence of stress and that everything will eventually pass.
I love yoga and reading to gain inspiration or visiting new places whenever I can. There is so much to learn constantly, from so many that we haven’t even met. I believe that communicating and getting to know people and learning more about oneself is the fuel to gear up to achieve bigger heights and growth.

We loved getting to hear about your life in Goa and your inspirations, thank you Roshni for sharing a glimpse of your world with our community!
